About me
Who am I?
I’m Wilf, a freelance game audio designer specialising in interactive sound, foley, and implementation based in the UK.
My work focuses on creating immersive audio using field recordings, detailed foley, and building sound systems in FMOD and Unity. I enjoy shaping audio that feels responsive and grounded within the game world.
I place a strong emphasis on real-world recordings, capturing natural environments to bring authenticity and depth to each project. For me, it’s about making sound feel reality breaking, believable and connected to the player experience, not just something that sits on top.
Alongside sound design, I also compose and produce music in response to project briefs. I focus on creating pieces that support atmosphere, visual cues, and can be adaptive to the overall tone of the given brief. Whether that’s subtle environmental layers or more defined musical ideas.
I’m currently in my final year of university developing my portfolio through independent and university projects across both interactive and linear sound design. My aim is to move into the professional game audio industry and help build memorable unique experiences.
My focuses
Player-Focused Sound Design
I design audio with the player experience in mind, using sound to support gameplay, feedback, and immersion rather than just sitting in the background.
Field Recording & Foley
I use real-world recordings and detailed foley to bring authenticity and depth to my work, capturing natural environments and textures that make each project feel rich and grounded.
Interactive Implementation
I build and implement dynamic audio systems in FMOD and Unity, creating sound that responds to player actions and evolves within the game.
