University Final Year Production Project

For my final year production project, I designed and implemented a full interactive audio system for a demo game using FMOD Studio and Unity.

About the project

For this game demo, I created every sound asset myself — field recordings, foley, music — and built a fully interactive audio system that adapts dynamically to player actions and in-game events. The project was part of a 40-credit, self-managed double-semester module, giving me full control over the creative and technical process.

I designed adaptive ambience and music layers, interactive foley for player movement, object interactions, and spatialised sounds to make the environment feel as immersive as possible. Using FMOD Studio and Unity, I implemented the audio system to respond seamlessly to gameplay while keeping performance optimized.

This project pushed me to solve creative and technical challenges, like balancing overlapping sounds, designing smooth music transitions, and capturing field recordings that could be adapted for dynamic gameplay, troubleshooting different parameters and scripting. It’s a project that demonstrates my skills in interactive audio design, foley, and full project management from concept to completion.

For this project I also composed a 4 four track EP for the different in-game biome/areas reflecting the games visual feel and atmosphere.
